When was Social Smoke founded?
Social Smoke was founded in 2003 in Arlington, Texas, USA, as a hookah retailer and distributor. We spent seven years on the buying side of the trade before releasing tobacco of our own.
When was Social Smoke Tobacco released?
Our tobacco was first sampled in local hookah bars in Dallas in December 2009, followed by an official launch in February 2010.

Where is your tobacco manufactured?
From 2010 to 2023, Social Smoke Tobacco was manufactured in Texas. We moved to a decentralized manufacturing model in 2023 and established our first facility under it in Tunisia, which began producing and shipping in 2024. The move lets us serve international markets better while maintaining our strict quality standards. More in our story.
Has Social Smoke ever worked with other tobacco factories?
Absolutely not. Social Smoke Tobacco has always been independently manufactured and never outsourced to third-party shisha factories.
What makes Social Smoke Tobacco unique?
Our proprietary house recipe was developed over five years and features premium tobacco leaves, real clover honey, and high-grade ingredients, without artificial colors or preservatives. Every flavor is developed in-house by our R&D team.
Why is some hookah tobacco red, green, or yellow?
These artificial colors are sometimes used to differentiate flavors or create a uniform look. At Social Smoke, we never use artificial coloring. Our tobacco has a natural yellow-brown hue from the light-colored leaves and real honey in our blend.
Is Social Smoke honey-based?
Yes, we use real honey in our recipe, which enhances both the flavor and smoking experience.
Is there a difference between your U.S. and international tobacco?
No. All Social Smoke products, regardless of destination, are made with the same recipe and ingredients, ensuring consistent quality worldwide.

Is Social Smoke tobacco nicotine-free or herbal?
No. Our products are made with real tobacco and contain nicotine. We do not produce herbal or synthetic alternatives.
What is the best way to pack a bowl of Social Smoke?
Social Smoke is designed for indirect heating. Ensure the tobacco does not touch foil or your heat management device. Packing will vary by bowl type, but proper airflow and heat management are key.
How long does a bowl last?
A properly packed bowl typically lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on setup and heat.
Does hookah tobacco expire?
While it does not spoil, older tobacco can darken and lose flavor intensity. For optimal enjoyment, we recommend using fresh tobacco.
